Une Journée en Ville.

Check out another entry from the adventures of Alex Rose:

I arrived in Switzerland a few days ago and I can't believe how gracious my hosts are. I can't thank them enough. They have taken quite a bit of time out of their lives to show me around. Yesterday we had the chance to explore the city of Neuchâtel. We started things off in the shopping quarter of town. It's lined with pedestrian streets, shops and an unsurprising number of banks. We climbed up the city hill to its name sake, the new castle. I believe that Neuchâtel, spelled Neufchatel in english, means new chateau. It was a bitter sweet experience as the famous towers were covered in scaffolding while they undergo renovation. We had the chance to visit the collegial church that dominates the front half of the terrace that contains the two buildings. From the terrace we enjoyed an excellent view of the country side.

My two hosts. Emanuel (on the far right) and Noémie (on the far left) Winkler.

A bit farther along the terrace we climbed the old prison tower. Here we were privileged with another beautiful view of the surrounding areas. The Alps come into view on the horizon and on clear days they can bee seen in crisp detail. It was excellent.
