Joyce Jonathan...an amazing French singer

Over the summer my wife was in China.  One day while walking through a store she heard a French song playing over the PA system that she didn't recognize.  Quickly she wrote down some of the lyrics, and when she got back to the hotel she looked them up online.  There she stumbled upon the 2011 NRJ French Revelation of the Year, the person who would get me excited again about French musicians, Joyce Jonathan.


I'll be honest when I first heard 'Joyce Jonathan' I thought of an American, but this girl is French to the max.  Born the youngest of three girls, to parents who lived in Paris, Joyce quickly found a love of music in her life.  During her younger years she learned to play the piano and started putting together some of her first compositions in secret.  At the age of 16 she posted her first few tracks on MySpace, before getting signed on by My Major Company. Her only album to date was certified gold after only five months, before going on to being certified platinum the following year.


Since signing with her label she has been able to work with other artists like Pétula Clark and Louis Bertignac.
