French Paradox, huh?

When we picture a archetypal French person, we don't think of an overweight dude crammed into a tiny sidewalk chair sipping a latté, reading a paper: we think of the thin dude, with the stripped shirt and scarf, sipping a latté. It just doesn't seem fair to us fast-food-eating Americans. The French smoke and drink daily, indulge in cheese and bread, and take the metro. Why don't they get fat? Well sadly, times are changing. Obesity is growing rapidly in France.
