Lessons learned in Paris

Here's a link to a great article in the NY Times by an American correspondent who had lived in Paris for the last five years. He shares some of his ideas and lessons he's learned during those five years, including things like "Make Friends With a Good Butcher."

Grants for students wishing to visit France

Recently we received the following information from Jean-François Questin, the French Attaché Culturel at the Consulate in San Francisco (who also visited our campus recently and gave an illuminating lecture on immigration in France), concerning grants given by the French government allowing American students to visit the country.

From M. Questin:

Etats-Unis-Paris."
If you are interested in knowing more about these grants, please email us at byufrenchstudies@gmail.com and we will forward you all the necessary documentation.

BYU French Studies Podcast: Episode 6 - Jean-François Questin, Cultural Attaché

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Jean-François Questin, the Cultural Attaché to the French Embassy in San Francisco. He spoke on immigration in France. The podcast this week will be the recording of that lecture. This is a great chance to hear from a foreign diplomat on a key issue in French culture today. Please be aware that this lecture is entirely in French. Enjoy!
