Sarkozy in Haiti

French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced a financial and aid package of nearly half a billion dollars on Wednesday to assist quake-hit Haiti, as he became France's first head of state to visit the former French Caribbean colony. Haiti's recent earthquake killed an estimated 200,000 to 250,000 people, claiming more lives as a percentage of the population than any recorded disaster, and may have caused as much as $13.2 billion in damage. Such announcements couldn’t come at a better time. Click up above on the link to read more.
