MA in Literary Translation at NYU

I imagine that most of you who are French majors have been asked more than once what exactly you plan to do with it. Based on my experience the first assumption is that you want to teach. The truth is that there is a plethora of doors opened to those who have studied the French language, like this one at NYU. Their one year program includes two semesters in New York City (where most books translated from French are published) and 6 weeks in Paris, all the time studying translation theory, creative writing, literature, and of course French with top professors, publishers, and French writers. The culminating thesis is your own original translation. Interested? More information on the program can be found here.
