There are all kinds of French news sources online: France24, Le Monde, and Le Figaro, to name a few, all provide international as well as local coverage. France-Amérique is an American newspaper published in French. These are essentially online newspapers, but most provide a wealth of other media, like slideshows and interview videos. One of my favorites among these multimedia features, "Radiozapping" on Le Monde, consists of clips from radio shows talking about whatever the news headlines are for the day and is a fun way to work on listening comprehension. Another regular feature on Le Monde, "l'Actus en patates", is just what it says it is: news-based cartoons using potatoes (yes, potatoes) to satirize the headlines.

If your French skills aren't quite up to reading, watching, or listening to the news in French, there are still several good places to read about la Francophonie. France24 publishes in English as well as French. The BBC has incredibly thorough and easy to navigate profiles for every country in the world. These profiles also include links to each country's own news media. For example, Côte d'Ivoire has several news sources, some private and some state-owned. The page also includes lists of recent and popular news stories, timelines, and photo collections.
Armed with this plenitude of news media you can dazzle everyone with how informed you are. And in the tradition of one of America's greatest contributions to the world of journalism, I wish you a good night and a pleasant tomorrow.
