Registration Blues

It's that time of year again: registering for winter classes. I know exactly what you're all thinking: isn't there some way I could incorporate my love of all things French into everything I study? Okay maybe you're not thinking exactly that, but as you register for a new semester here are some courses outside of the French department that might be of interest. BUS M 596R - Business French is for experienced speakers and covers conversation, business vocabulary, reading, writing, and other business skills. Hist 324 covers the history of France from the Romans to the present, focusing especially on the French Revolution and Napoleon. For a something outside the box, tryDance 173R - Polynesian Dance. There is a lot more to the Francophonie than just France, and Tahitian dance is a blast. This class is a fun break from the normal classroom routine (especially in the winter), and covers dances from the major Polynesian islands (including, of course, Tahiti). The Art History, Political Science, Philosophy, Anthropology, and History departments all offer courses that cover the culture, language, and history of the Francophonie.

In the meantime, for a break from registering, midterms, and reading assignments, enjoy this little gem from Rémy Grumbach. I had no idea Star Wars could be so groovy.
