Volcanic activity in Iceland affects France

Twenty airports across northern France will remain closed until 8 a.m. (0600 GMT) on Saturday because of the ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano, French civil aviation authority DGAC said in a statement on Friday. Almost two-thirds of Europe's flights were canceled Friday, as air space remained largely closed in Britain and across large chunks of north and central Europe.
