NCFS

October 22-24 saw the coming of the 35th annual Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium. Dr. Cropper and Dr. Lee had the luck and charisma to reel in the opportunity for BYU to host the colloquium for the first time. After a year of excruciating preparation the event was a huge success.

Several students showed up as well to listen and learn...or just eat candy.

Over 200 nineteenth-century specialists from throughout the western world participated in the conference. I was privileged to watch BYU's very own (Dr. Hudson, Dr. Hurlbutt, Dr. Sprenger) present and participate in panels. I was equally excited to meet reputable scholars from around the globe and hear about their research. If you are interested in seeing abstracts from the conference click on the NCFS title above.
All in all, everyone seemed to enjoy seeing BYU's lovely campus and experience downtown Salt Lake's unique atmosphere. The bar has been raised for Yale to keep up next year!
